What is Sew Koalaty? The name is pronounced So Quality.
Sew because that is what we do and Koalaty because owner Jessica Joaquin (JJ) Devore has been collecting koalas since she was a child, enjoys being
creative and unique,
and most of all believes in getting what you pay for.

Why are you moving out of the Hickory Point Mall? Sew Koalaty is going through some major changes. As we sat back and looked at the big picture Jessica realized that she wanted to focus more on designing clothes than altering them. She has a degree in fashion design, perfect sewing skills and the gusto to make it happen. As of March 2012, Jessica will audition for

Will you still offer tailoring services? Yes but on a more limited basis due to the higher price points. In doing alterations for the last 8 years, we've realized that people are more concerned with price than they are with "Koalaty". But the old saying you get what you pay for is very appropriate when addressing this mindset. If someone is not trained in patternmaking, draping, sewing and the like their skills will not be as strong as someone

who is. Jessica is trained in all these areas.
Education is very important. Not only does she have 20 years of fashion industry experience, she has a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design from ISU where she graduated with honors. So before you entrust just anybody with working on your clothes you may want to think about their skill set and consider the fact that they might not do it right. Then you will have to pay again to get it fixed if it even can be.
We take tailoring very seriously and liken it to a doctor for clothing.
